Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) is the state-owned oil exploration and production company of Venezuela, the 5th largest oil producer of the world. The company has evolved over time through the merger of several private companies, and as such has a very diverse IT environment consisting of hundreds of applications.

ISG assisted PDVSA with the review of business and technical requirements of core business processes, including the applications that implement these processes, and recommended a well-defined, consistent architecture that would enable PDVSA to implement a scalable, durable and extensible integration architecture. ISG Guided PDVSA in the selection of a commercial EAI product by developing a Request for Information (RFI) for a number of targeted vendors, evaluated the responses to the RFI, and helped define a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) EAI implementation.

In addition, ISG conducted a “CIO summit” with a team of IT and business leaders in order to determine PDVSA´s IT plan for an integration and development strategy, the definition of a global IT vision, and the roadmap and evolution process for its successful implementation.
