With the fast paced evolution in the area of mobile communication and computation come new possibilities and expectations for delivering enterprise products and services. Enhancing existing product lines and markets with mobile services and exploring completely new markets comes with a new set of challenges and opportunities. They grow as the capabilities of the mobile platforms unfold over time. At the same time, mobile platforms are establishing themselves as a permanent element in the delivery of enterprise services to business and end users. They need to provide access to enterprise applications, connect to newly developed cloud applications, and support employees in the field who interact with devices that are part of the Internet of Things. It is therefore critical to future-proof existing or planned mobile applications for the next generations of mobile platforms.
This presentation gives an overview of the latest advances around mobile technology, it explains how to treat new heterogeneous mobile platforms as a superset of traditional user-facing technologies and interaction paradigms, it shows how mobile applications are developed and rolled out together with other application components like back-end systems and dashboards for IoT, and illustrates how multi-platform applications and user interfaces are designed and created that look and feel good on a variety of devices.
