Most enterprises have made investments in the cloud and mobile initiatives. At the same time the number of physical devices being connected to the Internet is exploding and their usage is expanding across industries. The connected enterprise is becoming a reality for many organizations, connecting customers, employees, physical assets, business partners, enterprise applications and data.
This presentation will discuss the three pillars that are the foundation of the connected enterprise: cloud, mobile, and IoT. We will look at the state of the market and the technology, the benefits to the business, as well as the challenges that IT is facing. However, implementing the pillars as independent initiatives is a recipe for failure.
The value of the connected enterprise can only be realized when all three pillars are integrated and just when we thought we knew how to integrate applications and data, the cloud and mobile have been raising the bar, and now IoT opens a whole new set of issues. At the same time executing the vision of the connected enterprise requires a new approach to application development: APIs provide the agility that enables IT to keep up with today’s velocity of the digital business.
